Rosewater is nice for anointing in love magick and is an excellent substitute for rose dew. The Sufis, a mystic sect of Islam, use rosewater as an ink to draw protective amulets which are then placed in a cup of water the person drinks. On May 14, a libation of rosewater is sprinkled in honor of Isis the Merciful, and in traditional witchcraft, it is an aid in awakening one who has been in a trance and works well as a body wash in preparation for ceremonial magic.
